Event Recap: Your Roof, Your Future: Solar Solutions & ESG Made Simple

On 23 July 2025, Solargy, alongside OCBC Bank and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), successfully co-hosted a seminar specially for SMEs at the Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel.

The seminar brought together a vibrant group of SME leaders to explore solar solutions with zero up front cost, accessible green financing, and practical ESG support. Through the workshop, participants gained valuable insights on:

  • Adopting solar energy and taking their first steps towards becoming a more sustainable company
  • Sustainable financing options for businesses of all sizes presented by OCBC
  • End-to-end ESG guidance through SMF’s CSOaaS platform which equips SMEs with the capability to improve their sustainability without hiring a full-time expert

A key highlight of the seminar was the panel discussion, “Powering the Green Transition: How Can SMEs Take the First Step?” Moderated by Solargy’s Vianne Tong, the panel included SolarGy’s very own Managing Director, Mr Albert Lim; OCBC’s Head of Emerging Business and Commercial Banking Cash, Ms Iris Ng; and SMF’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Ms Clara Kwan.

The discussion kicked off with our esteemed panellists sharing what ESG means to them and why sustainability is an important material topic for SMEs. Then, they highlighted the common challenges faced by SMEs in starting their sustainability journey before presenting low barrier of entry ways for SMEs to take actionable first steps in their green journey. The discussion ended off with a peer sharing and Q&A session where SME owners shared their real-world experiences with the crowd.

We would like to extend a warm, heartfelt, thank you to all who took some time out of their busy schedules to join us. We’re proud to play a part in helping SMEs take meaningful steps towards becoming more sustainable and reducing their carbon emissions, all without heavy upfront investments or internal ESG teams. Let’s continue building a cleaner, greener future together.
