Lighting the Way to a Greener Future: SolarGy's ESG Report FY2024/2025

As we release the 2nd edition of SolarGy's ESG Report (2024/2025) this June, we take a moment to reflect on the direction we have deliberately shaped over the past two years. This edition goes beyond a summary of our efforts — it reflects the choices we have made as a team, guided by where we see the industry, and Singapore, is heading.

For 18 years, SolarGy has been committed to advancing renewable energy adoption through solar PV. However, as the sustainability landscape continues to evolve, we recognise that meaningful impact requires more than simply generating clean energy. It requires a broader commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles across every aspect of our business and the projects we undertake.

Beyond rooftop solar, we have consciously positioned ourselves to support larger infrastructure and more complex developments, recognising that the next phase of solarisation will require deeper integration into the built environment. This has led to the establishment of our BIPV business pillar, alongside our involvement in major projects such as the 20MWp Jurong Region Line. We also hosted our first BIPV seminar, bringing together developers, architects, consultants and industry stakeholders to drive meaningful conversations on façade-integrated solar solutions. This move reflects our broader intent to contribute to the next wave of solar adoption in Singapore, where design, infrastructure and sustainability come together seamlessly.

In tandem with our ESG framework, we believe it is increasingly important for large public infrastructure projects to take cognisance of ESG considerations not only during operations, but also throughout the construction phase. The construction industry has a significant influence on resource consumption, waste generation, carbon emissions, worker welfare and supply chain practices. Decisions made during project planning and execution can have a lasting impact on climate change mitigation efforts and the overall sustainability outcomes of a development.

As EPC contractors, we have a responsibility to look beyond project delivery timelines and costs. We must also consider how projects are executed — from responsible sourcing and material selection, to waste minimisation, environmental protection, workplace safety, worker well-being and ethical business practices. We believe that integrating ESG principles into project execution creates long-term value for asset owners, communities and future generations.

At the same time, we have strengthened our internal ESG commitments. From recycling used solar panels and materials, to encouraging carpooling, reducing resource consumption, and placing greater emphasis on employee welfare, training and professional development, these are practical initiatives that we believe will create lasting impact over time. While individually modest, collectively they contribute towards building a stronger culture of sustainability and responsibility within our organisation.

This report therefore reflects not just what we have accomplished, but also how we intend to move forward - with purpose, accountability and a long-term commitment to sustainable value creation. As Singapore accelerates its sustainability ambitions, SolarGy remains committed to being a trusted partner in delivering clean energy solutions while championing responsible business practices that contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future.
